Inaugural RISE IDEAS Retreat

An Integrated Development Experience for Altruistic Spirits

“It is vital we provide knowledgeable parenting, teaching and psychological support that is truly congruent with the needs of sensitive, intense, creative and dynamic learners…Lacking an informed and mindful approach we may inadvertently squander remarkable abilities and crush the animating essence at the core of their being that fuels their passion for learning and gives meaning to their existence.”

~ P. Sue Jackson of the Daimon Institute ~

Join us for a full, day invigorating retreat as we support one another and our children in realizing our highest potential.

The present day understanding of human development is that the body, mind, emotions and spirit are dynamically interrelated. What happens when we conceptualize the development of gifted individuals in an integral manner? The Integral Practice for the Gifted kicks cognicentrism to the curb and invites passionate engagement, confidence, curiosity, intentionality, self-control, relatedness, capacity to communicate, and cooperativeness to the developmental dance.

Sue Jackson young poetWhen: Friday, 1/23/15 8am-5pm

GO DO! One day will impact countless lives.

The Daimon Institute & SoulSpark Champion those with Feet on the Ground.

How do we recognize the characteristics of each gifted learner and support the development of those characteristics? How do we provide the conditions and stimulus for further development in all areas such as the somatic, emotional, aesthetic, imaginal, visionary, intuitive and contemplative, to name a few. How do we build on these myriad strengths of gifted children and the adults who nurture them? This retreat will deliver the impetus, practices and scaffolding for full-throttle capacity building for yourself and the gifted individuals you support.

Why Attend:
Cognitive neuroscience informs us that dense and well-elaborated emotional expression is positively daimon logoassociated with cognitive functioning. Across-the-board gifted learners display significant differences from the developmental patterns observable in age-peers. At the RISE IDEAS Retreat, all will delve into the Integral Practice for the Gifted Model. Sue developed the Integral Practice Model based on 25 years in-depth psychotherapy, research and consulting with exceptional individuals. The model addresses multiple aspects of human functioning – cognitive, emotional, spiritual, social and physical dimensions – and explains how advanced cognition influences all of these elements, the SELF and the expression of talent. All will leave with a deeper understanding of the development of this unique population, fine-tuned 1:1 and group communication practices and improved strategic planning capacity.

What to Expect: A full day, holistic experience in stunning Chautauqua Park located in Boulder, CO. Chautauqua was created in 1898 to support the adult education movement focused on spreading inspiring ideas and increasing civic engagement. Dress to move and play. Nourishing lunch will be provided.

Cost: $200 which includes a DVD copy of the new, internationally acclaimed documentary, RISE. In addition, attendees will receive 1 ticket to the Boulder screening of RISE Thursday evening, January 22nd at 7pm. Click here for movie screening details and to purchase additional tickets.
